On April 1, 2021, the Inaugural Meeting of the Metal Additive Manufacturing Technology and Talent Training Alliance was successfully held in Xi’an.

All the representatives gathered in BLT to jointly，in order to integrate the superior resources of the metal additive manufacturing industry and colleges and universities in the new era, promote the talent training of metal additive manufacturing technology, improve the quality of school-enterprise cooperation, and accelerate the high-quality development of the metal additive manufacturing industry.
The host, Qiu Jiafei, Dean of Additive Manufacturing School of Zhejiang Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, introduced the representatives to all the guests.
Alliance Establishment and Awarding Ceremony
Xue Lei, Chairman and General Manager of BLT, delivered a speech for the Inaugural Meeting of the Alliance. He mentioned that the metal additive manufacturing industry has been developing rapidly and he hopes that we will all work together to solve the problem of talent bottleneck in the development of the industry, establish an organic ecology of Industry-college-institute Cooperation, and promote the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry.
Jia Xin, Deputy General Manager of BLT, introduced the organizational structure, functions, and articles of association of the Alliance, announced the Co-chairman Company, Deputy-chairman Company and Alliance Members, and held the awarding ceremony.
Among them, 9 colleges and enterprises including Zhejiang Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering were awarded as the Co-chairman Companies.15 colleges including Yellow River Conservancy Technical Institute were awarded as the Deputy-chairman Companies. The Alliance Members included 32 colleges and enterprises such as Ningbo Polytechnic Institute.
After the awarding ceremony was held, Wang Xinggang, Deputy Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering of Changzhou Vocational Institute of Mechatronic Technology, elaborated the key tasks of 2021 on behalf of the Alliance.
Signing ceremony for the integration of production and education of highly skilled talents in additive manufacturing technology
For the purpose of accelerating the cultivation of more high-quality, high-skilled and application-oriented talents with excellent professional knowledge, practical skills and occupational qualities, Guangdong Machinery Technician College and BLT signed an agreement on the “Training Base of Production and Education Integration for High-skilled Talents in Additive Manufacturing Technology”.

During the seminar, Jia Xin, Deputy General Manager of BLT; Feng Weiyuan, Secretary of Guangdong Mechanery Technician College; Huang Weidong, Professor of Northwestern Polytechnical University; Xu Murong, Chairman of Shenzhen Deke Precision Technology Co., Ltd.; delivered a representative speech.
In the speech, Jia Xin introduced the development history of BLT and its scope of business, and mentioned: BLT will explore a new model of school-enterprise cooperation and integration of industry and education, and do the best to promote the training of China’s high-quality vocational and technical talents, allowing metal additive manufacturing to enter thousands of factories.
Mr. Feng Weiyuan gave a speech on the theme of “Insist on the deep integration of production and education, and cultivate high-skilled talents in the new era”. He said that colleges and enterprises could jointly contribute to the country’s training of high-skilled talents in metal additive manufacturing.
Professor Huang Weidong delivered a report on the theme of “3D printing technology in a new era”. This report explained the advancement of 3D printing technology from a philosophical perspective, while spanning the time dimension of 30 years, looked at the development path and trend of 3D printing technology, as well as its revolutionary effect on the manufacturing industry.
Xu Murong mainly introduced the application of 3D printing in the field of molds to the guests. In the field of molds, metal 3D printing technology is accelerating the change of industry habits and bringing important value to quality, efficiency, and cost. 3D printing technology is expediting its application in the field of molds on a large scale.
The conference also specially set up sub-venues for “Professional Teaching Resource Development of Metal Additive Manufacturing Technology” and “On-site College-Enterprise Cooperation Seminar”. The representatives of both colleges and enterprises had a lively discussion on topics such as the construction of major in metal additive manufacturing, curriculum arrangement, teacher training, evaluation system, student education, employment, etc., and gave full play to the platform and bridge role of the Alliance throughout the exchange of viewpoints.
The establishment of the Metal Additive Manufacturing Technology and Talent Training Alliance has deepened the college-enterprise cooperation and the integration of production and education and will continue to accelerate the training of outstanding additive manufacturing talents in the future.
