BLT Intelligent Manufacturing Factory Welcomes the 200thSLM Printer!

On November 8th, a combined delivery ceremony of the 200th SLM machine and 80th ton of the titanium alloy powder was held in BLT Intelligent Manufacturing Factory where Mr. Xue Lei, BLT chairman & general manager, Mr. Zhao Xiaoming and Yang Donghui, BLT-deputy general managers, attended in the presence of supervisors and representatives from three departments of the production, the new material, and the equipment manufacturing.

The SLM delivery document was signed on-site by and between the Equipment Manufacturing Dept. and the Production Dept., where a BLT-S800 system model was exchanged. The 200th system delivered was the flagship product BLT-S800 launched at TCT Asia. It is an 10-laser system used mainly in Aerospace, Aviation, Engine, Medical, Mold, Electronics, Automotive and Scientific Research.

The ceremony saw another delivery of 2100kg titanium alloy powder, making the total delivery from the New Materials Research and Manufacturing Dept. to the Production Dept. in 2021 reach 80 tons. This batch was a part of an order for printing services. This high-quality powder, produced by BLT’s titanium alloy powder production line, meets the requirements of SLM in many ways, featuring high purity, uniform composition and high sphericity.

The ceremony site was the factory for large-format printing system services, which had been a part of BLT Phase Ⅱ Project, with an area of around 5.2 hectares, consisting of one R&D Center and three Intelligent Manufacturing Factories. All have been put into use in 2021.

The factory for large-format printing system services offers parts printing services to customers from the aerospace, engines and automotive industries.
